Stable Homes Stable Schools

The Minneapolis Stable Homes Stable Schools initiative is a collaborative effort by the City of Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority (MPHA), Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), and Hennepin County Health and Human Services to provide funding and resources for families facing the threat of losing their homes or experiencing homelessness.

The initiative supports children and families in two ways:

  • Rental assistance and supportive services are provided for families who meet the McKinney-Vento definition of homelessness.
  • The Housing Stability Fund provides low-barrier funding to families who are housed but are facing housing instability or eviction.

This support is being piloted in 18 elementary schools with the highest numbers of students experiencing homelessness. For more information visit our Frequently Asked Questions page or the MPHA Stable Homes Stable Schools site.
